An internationally acclaimed institution, it is the only university of technology in the Western Cape and is the largest university in the region with an enrolment of more than 30 000 students. CPUT Online application
To complete your CPUT online application please follow the following application procedures:
- Visit the CPUT website and click on the Admission > Apply for Admission
- Online Registration; Fill in your Information To register.
- Upload supporting documents; Everyone applying for a new qualification must submit the required documents (all first-time applicants and CPUT students starting a new qualification).
- CPUT Application fee payments (Note some universities do not charge application fees)
- Submit your completed application: To complete the application; the applicant is required to complete all steps related to the CPUT application process.

When to apply at CPUT – CPUT application dates
Applications open between May and close around August every year. Please try to submit your application as soon as possible. Because some Universities do not consider late applications.

When the CPUT updates your application, you will receive email communication. Please Keep on monitoring your email account closely for updates. You can also check your status online with the log-in credentials that were provided after your application. Keep in mind that some universities do not disclose your application status telephonically.
Follow-up and get your admission status
All applications are loaded onto the CPUT system. Once loaded onto the system, an sms will be sent to you acknowledging that the institution has received your application. Note, this is not an acceptance notice.

Please note, when you contact the institution, you will need to provide the Call Centre agent or Admission’s Officer with your identity number, passport number or student number.
Successful candidates will be notified by SMS of their acceptance to the institution. You will be informed of the registration dates and times as well as the commencement of class.

How to accept CPUT admission offer
After a successful application, you will receive an admission offer from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, to accept your CPUT offer of admission, log in to the CPUT Online application tool and select the “Confirm” tab. You must respond by the expiry date noted in your offer
