Serbia coach Dragan Stojkovic has included Dusan Vlahovic in his squad for the FIFA World Cup 2022™ despite the question mark hanging over the fitness of the Juventus centre-forward.
Vlahovic has not played since Juventus’s UEFA Champions League fixture at Benfica on 25 October owing to a groin injury. He is considered a doubt for Juventus’s match against Lazio this weekend yet will take his place in Serbia’s squad for Qatar where Stojkovic will hope he can resume his forward partnership with the powerful Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Vlahovic is among 11 players in the Serbia squad who play their club football in Serie A, including the Milinković-Savić brothers, Sergej and Vanja, who play for Lazio and Torino respectively.
Serbia will kick off their Group G campaign against Brazil on 24 November before taking on Cameroon and Switzerland.
