Costa Rica have named their 26-man squad for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.
Luis Fernando Suarez announced the 26 names that will participate in the tournament, which begins on 20 November, in a special press conference.
Including Qatar 2022, Costa Rica have appeared at six of the last nine editions of the FIFA World Cup, with a member of the Borges family – Alexandre Guimaraes (player 1990, coach 2002 and 2006) and Celso (played 2014 and 2018, named 2022) – representing the country at every tournament.
Joining Celso Borges at their third World Cup are Keylor Navas, Oscar Duarte, Bryan Ruiz, Yeltsin Tejeda and Joel Campbell.
Costa Rica are in a tough group also comprising Spain, Germany and Japan. Los Ticos did, however, advance from a difficult draw including England, Italy and Uruguay at Brazil 2014, reaching the quarter-finals.
